Above: Lakelyn Cole age 10, with a bull Elk she bagged on private property in Harlan County using a .30-30. Her parents are Bobby, and Missy Cole.  This isn't here first nice harvest as I understand she has a nice deer mounted that she shot 2 years ago. Maybe she will send us a picture of that one as well.

Right: Here we have Austin Eversole with a deer taken on 10-12-08 with a .22-250 on Honey Branch in Avawam. He was hunting with his grandfather Farmer Gwinn.

Above are pictures taken by Lyndon Combs recently of several Does running together within a mile of the city limits of Hazard Kentucky.

Right/Below: You will see one of the closest encounters I have ever had with a Deer. It walked within 3 yards of me, and stood long enough for me to take several pictures.

The only movement it made is shown in the pictures as it moves it's head, and ears.

It acted as it wanted to run off, but still it stood as I took it's picture.

It eventually decided to walk on, and walked past me then stopped as many times a Deer will do to look back at me to see if I was moving.

Above is two of the pictures I took recently at Fish Pond Lake in Letcher County. The place was Duck central.

Above are two pics of Turkeys taking flight on Town Mountain in Hazard.

Above is a picture of a 30lb. Catfish caught by Cody Wilson of Shepardsville Kentucky.

Above is a picture of 14 year old Mikie Monroe, and the great Buck she harvested this month in Taylorsville Kentucky. She is the daughter of Paula & Sheridan Monroe.

At the annual meeting of the Kentucky Outdoor Press Association (KOPA) held on Cave Run Lake outside of Morehead, outdoor writer Pat Robertson from Pikeville, TN landed and released a Musky that was just over 50 inch.  The state record of 54 inch was caught from these waters last fall by 14 year old Mt. Sterling girl.
